Your privacy is deeply important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how WhereRU ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

WhereRU is a real-time location sharing and chat tool. To function, the App collects and processes the following data:

• Real-Time Location Data: When you grant the App permission to access your device’s location, we collect your coordinates to display your position to other users in your specific map group. We only store your most recent location. Your previous location coordinates are overwritten automatically when you move or update your status.
• Chat Messages: We transmit and store the text messages you send within your active map group so that other group members can see them.

2. Data Sharing and Visibility

By design, WhereRU shares your location and chat messages with other users, subject to the following rules:

• Group-Based Visibility: Your location and messages are only visible to users who have actively joined the exact same map group name as you.
• Consent by Joining: By creating or entering a map group name, you explicitly grant permission to anyone else inside that group to view your real-time location and messages.
• Discoverability Warning: Map group names are not completely private or password-protected. Anyone who guesses or types your chosen map group name can join the group. To maintain privacy, you should create unique, complex map group names that others cannot easily guess.

3. User Control and Data Deletion

You maintain absolute control over your location privacy and data footprint:

• Instant Revocation: You can block all access to your location data instantly by exiting the joined map group. Once you leave a group, you are completely invisible to its members.
• Block Users: You can block all access to your location data instantly by selecting to block a user.
• Session-Based Visibility: You are only visible to others while you are actively signed in and participating in that specific map group.
• No Historical Tracking: Because we only save your single most recent location, we do not keep or maintain a historical log or timeline of your past movements.

4. Age Restrictions (18+)

Because WhereRU allows real-time location sharing to multiple users on a shared map via publicly accessible group names, the App is intended strictly for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit location data from children under 18.

5. Security

We take commercially reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. You are advised to review this page periodically for any modifications.
